Ash Wednesday & Lent Visual Mediations at the NCMA

Pieter Aertsen, A Meat Stall with the Holy Family Giving Alms, 1551, oil on panel 45 1/2 x 66 1/2 inches / 115.6 x 168.9 cm (North Carolina Museum of Art). All images used with permission from the NCMA.

I created seven self-guided visual meditation tours for Ash Wednesday and Lent based on the book "Entering the Passion: A Beginner's Guide to Holy Week" by Amy-Jill Levine. The guide contains QR codes and images of all the works that you can find on view at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, NC. Also, you can view and learn more about these works on the NCMA website here or NCMALearn. For those in the Raleigh-Durham area and would like to visit the North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA), each work with an * after the title has the specific location on the NCMA map.

May this season of listening to God's Passion for justice and righteousness, and beholding the Son of Man, the Son of God and the Man of Sorrows lead you into a deeper and a purer commitment to Jesus.

May you follow Him and may all your sorrows lead to J.O.Y. (Jesus overcoming you)
